Abstract
Objective : The purpose of this study is to survey adult occupational therapists about the status of use of cognitive assessment tools according to the approach is investigated in patients with brain lesions and the future direction is presented.

Methods : This study was conducted through a questionnaire for two weeks from April 11 to April 25, 2019 to investigate cognitive assessment tools and cognitive rehabilitation approaches used by adult occupational therapists working in Busan and South Gyeongsang Province.

Result : Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) was the most popular cognitive tool for brain lesions, it was followed by MVPT and LOTCA. The most commonly used post-evaluation intervention approach from the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) was found to have an adaptive approach of 22 and a remedial approach of 20. The question most frequently answered by occupational therapists as the reason for choosing cognitive assessment tools was "because they are typically used a lot," followed by "restrictions on assessment tools equipped in hospitals." The most frequently answered question as a limitation of the assessment tool used was "difficult to determine the exact level of cognition."
Conclusion : The study found that due to limited assessment time and limitations of assessment tools in the clinical environment, it was difficult to select the appropriate cognitive assessment tool suitable for the approach to be applied in practice. In future studies, the use and suitability of cognitive assessment tools by disease and age, supplementing the limitations of this study, will be beneficial to the cognitive rehabilitation area.
